In the heart of Snowdonia, Dolffanog Fach nestles by the side of Talyllyn lake and at the foot of the awe inspiring mountain of Cadair Idris. This traditional 17th Century Welsh farmhouse, has an indulgent 21st Century feel, stylish, modern, comfortable & affordable. Sample freshly prepared local or home grown produce, freshly cooked and served in an intimate candlelit, slate floored dining room.
Dolffanog Fach is ideally situated for those in pursuit of a variety of activities.
Though this list is by no means exhaustive it may give you some ideas before planning your trip to the area
MOUNTAINBIKING at nearby Coed y Brenin (Forest of the King), has something to offer all levels of mountain biker. There are a total of 5 routes set in the forest, ranging from the 12km fun route, the famous 'Red Bull' and 'MBR' trails through to the strenuous 38km technical single track of the Karrimor loop which has a punishing 1110m climb.
FISHING An obvious place to start for the keen fisherman would have to be on Talyllyn itself. On the shore of the lake is the Tynycornel, who for over a century, have been catering for fishermens' needs on Talyllyn lake.
The lake itself is well stocked with brown trout. Starting at the Talyllyn lake, and reaching the sea at Tywyn, the Afon Dysynni is a haven for migrating sea trout and salmon.
In early to mid October - sea trout and salmon inhabit the lake at the mouths of the streams on the Northern shore.
All too often guest houses bed and breakfast accommodation, (and indeed hotels) fail to deliver what we are all looking for whilst away from home... comfort
The emphasis of a B & B has to be on it's beds. At Dolffanog Fach you will never sleep on anything but sumptuous white Egyptian linen.
We believe that the only flowers in a bedroom ought to be fresh, (not on walls and quilts) and in a beautiful vase.
Rooms themselves are tastefully simple with a tasteful contemporary feel, exuding quality taste and warmth, and are named after local mountains and rivers.
