Ty Gwyn is a very special and comfortable place in which to relax and enjoy some of the most fantastic scenery in Wales. Whether you are keen on wildlife or landscapes, churches and religion, coastlines and beaches or just walking to somewhere different, we are sure you will enjoy your visit here. Ty Gwyn (White House) was built in1911 for the Island steward of the time. Subsequently it has been used by the monastic community as a place to stay for young seminaries who came to the island each year to help and to learn about monastic life.

In recent years the house has been largely unused although much modernised with the installation of double glazing, central heating, en-suite bathrooms and new laundry facilities. The house has a floristically rich garden and is surrounded by lush shrubs and windswept trees and scrub. The house facilities include a recently equipped kitchen with new Rayburn, separate cookers and microwaves. There is a large larder area and a separate large fridge/freezer area and a fantastic laundry with huge dryer. Central heating is supplemented by room heaters. We supply all bed linen and towels.

Ty Gwyn is ideal for families sharing or for groups and can accomodate up to eleven people. It may also however be used as a very comfortable self catering guest house offering very flexible options for smaller groups or individuals.

The sleeping accommodation (all on the first floor and named after the islands bays) includes:-

ty gwyn self catering accomodation Priory A large en-suite family bedroom with a double and single bed. The bathroom has a large bath but no shower. There are fantastic views over Caldey Sound towards Tenby.

Drinkim A comfortable single room overlooking the garden and woodland with shared bathroom facilities.
